Crowds are arriving at Reading Festival | Berkshire Live

Reading Bike Hub is creating a cycling community in the heart of the town centre. The new venture run by a dedicated team of volunteers aims to encourage cycling by making it accessible, affordable and enjoyable for everyone. The hub in King Street offers bike repairs while you wait, refurbished bikes for sale, a kids’ bike library, a corporate bike repair service and is working on setting up a bike hire scheme. Reading has received the Purple Flag award for the seventh year in a row, a national accreditation that recognises towns and cities for providing a safe, welcoming, and vibrant nightlife. The Council supports the work of Reading BID, along with other partners including TVP and the street pastors, to make visiting the town centre a better experience. Many of the improvements made form part of our ongoing work to reduce violence against women and girls and help make them feel safer in Reading. | R
