Willie Edward Tharp, 83, of Stanley, died on Friday, June 8,2007, at MontVue Nursing Home. He was born on Aug 24, 1923, in Fairfax and was a son of the late Willie Edward and Bertha Frye Tharp. Mr. Tharp was a self-employed landscaper and was a member of the Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. In 1945, he married the former Mary Catherine Campbell, who died on June 25, 1981. He is survived by four sons, Joe E Tharp of Luray and Terry D Tharp, Willie Jr. and Jef
