Have you ever used a great bellows? Well On this episode of how do you start your forge- I show how I start an early 1800s blacksmith forge. I am burning bituminous coal- a soft mineral coal. First I take some wood shavings, light them on fire and begin pumping the bellows. The bellows fan the flames causing the fire to burn faster. Adding fuel to the fire makes it larger.
