Understanding Dividend Payments: Why Some Companies Distribute Profits

Most people buy dividend stocks to “hold forever.” I buy them for one reason only: the dividend. Here’s the strategy 👇 I look for stocks, ETFs, or funds that pay weekly, monthly, or quarterly dividends. But I’m not married to any of them. I’m not buying for long-term growth — I’m buying for the payout. The day before the dividend’s ex-date or payout date, I enter the position. The next day, once the dividend is paid, I exit the position. Rinse. Repeat. Recycle the capital. This is called a divi
