On September 12, 2025, longtime Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus (UBC) bandurist, assistant conductor, soloist, and educator Petro Kytasty passed away at age 97 - the last survivor of seventeen UBC members that came to North America in 1949. The song was written by a Ukrainian composer and has since become a holiday classic. The performance will raise money for Ukraine.
