Early in his career, Richard Burton established himself as a skilled Shakespearean actor starring in HAMLET on Broadway and was called "the natural successor to Olivier" by critic Kenneth Tynan. Burton also co-produced THE TAMING OF THE SHREW ('67) with Elizabeth Taylor. A true thespian, Burton was later deemed "The King of Broadway" during his run in the original production of CAMELOT and was invited by John F. Kennedy during his presidency to visit the White House as a huge fan of the show. #S
