The historic Fountain of Light and Water comes back to life for the 2025 year! Made by the sculptor that went on to create the Statue of Liberty, this 1876 fountain stands 30 feet tall, weighs about 30,000 pounds, and has been part of the United States Botanic Garden since 1877. Each winter, we drain the fountain to protect it from damage from freezing weather, and each spring we perform preventative maintenance to keep it functioning well for another year and then bring it back to life!
