The Trail Center and its volunteers give back to the land much needed care and maintenance of trails. Trail work is the perfect blend of community service, outdoor awareness, conservation, physical exercise and camaraderie set in places of natural beauty.
Events – The Trail Center
Sanborn & Skyline Trail. Activities: We will be working on two segments of trail, the Sanborn Trail and the Skyline Trail (section between the Seagraves Trailhead and Biddles Stairway). Work will consist of brushing, tread repair, debris removal, and drainage improvements.

The Trail Center is a non-profit volunteer organization formed in 1983 to provide and promote quality non-motorized trail opportunities for all people in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco counties.
Saturday January 11th, 2025 – Portola Valley Coal Mine Ridge
Nov 2, 2024 · Activities: Selectively restore tread width, brush encroaching vegetation, and perform general maintenance on the northern portion of the Toyon Trail, which is part of the Coal Mine Ridge Nature Preserve and the Town of Portola Valley trails system. Re-build a switchback that needs rehabilitation.
Trail Center Workday - Huddart County Park
The Trail Center provides tools, training, gloves, and refreshments after the workday. Assemble at 8:30 am for our safety talk and crew assignments. Work begins at 9:00 am.
