Sep 2, 2014 · We have a camera 30 yards away pointed back directly at the blind and have deer walking within 5 yards the same day we took it to the field. I was surprised with how quick they adapted. That's correct: the blind is on top of the gravity wagon simply for additional height. We got it staked down last night which is more for peace of mind.

The wood floor of the wagon was good enough to use for the floor, and we just framed the sides with 2x4 and used scrap steel for the sides and top. I had an old door laying around that we put in, but it is something less than an air tight fit.

Because of farming operations, a constructed/permanent blind is pretty much out of the question. I have considered converting an old gravity wagon into a rolling/portable deer condo.

Dec 12, 2014 · It measures 6'x10' at the very top. I don't really want a 10' long blind, but making it smaller is not an option as making it weatherproof is more important. The bottom of the door is where I cut the steel out with a cut-off wheel (above the grain door). The other half of the door will be built into the blind above.

Dec 12, 2014 · No it doesn't make any more or less noise than any normal box blind. It is insulated so that helps. I could only track down one old photo. It's really simple though. Drop in a false bottom and build like a normal blind from there. Fasten a ledger board to wagon, stand 2x6 joists on it, deck it with plywood and your deck is done.
