Dar-ul-Sukun originated as a home for the abandoned children with disabilities. It was founded on 17th February 1969 by a Dutch nun, Sr. Gertrude Lemmens who came to Pakistan as a visitor in her full youth.

In 1981, Sr. Gertrude Lemmen’s, founder of Dar ul Sukun, recognized a pressing need to provide shelter and support for girls from broken families.

It is certified that Zakat, Sadaqah and Donation amounts advanced to Dar ul Sukun Welfare Society are utilized as per Shariah guidelines. Therefore, it is permissible to donate to Dar ul Sukun Welfare Society.
