John Pastor-Mendoza kidnapped and assaulted women he met outside bars in Denver by pretending to be the driver on a ride-hailing app, investigators said.

A Denver Lyft driver who kidnapped and/or assaulted at least a dozen passengers will spend the rest of his life behind bars. John Pastor-Mendoza, 43, was sentenced to 290 years to life in prison by Judge Karen Brody on Friday,

Mendoza, a Lyft driver, falsely posed as the ride that the women had requested and targeted victims who appeared intoxicated, the Denver district attorney said.
