BBC presenter and TV personality Gethin Jones has claimed he was banned from dating app Hinge after 300 women reported him, thinking he was catfishing. Jones revealed on the podcast Restless Natives he was "kicked off" the platform twice for "violating the code of conduct".

The host said on the Restless Natives podcast, which is hosted by Martin Compston and Gordon Smart: “A couple of weeks ago I was kicked off Hinge twice in eight hours for violating the Code of Conduct. Three hundred women had reported me for catfishing.
