While the threat is not as urgent as it used to be, there are still people getting infected with COVID-19 across the country, with infections rising during the summer. An occasion like Thanksgiving, when big groups of people spend a long time in confined spaces, represents a chance for the virus to spread.
“If you think back to the end of January, just before COVID became a thing in the news in the United States, January, February, what was Dr. Fauci doing? He was frantically engaging in a massive cover-up with 3 a.m. emails and phone calls," Makary argued.
Makary, a former professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, explained to “Pod Force One” host Miranda Devine that as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease
Younger Americans are more likely than older people to say these changes have influenced their decision. Among adults under 30 who are familiar with the CDC’s changes, about half say these changes have had at least a minor influence. That compares with 36% of those 65 and older.
