The judge overseeing the sex abuse case against a St. Helens teacher has taken himself off the case. The teacher in question is Eric Stearns.

Eric Stearns, one of the St. Helen's High School teachers accused of sexual abuse, has been fired by the district.

Judge Nickolas Brajcich recused himself on Tuesday, after Stearns and his defense attorney, Jennifer Myrick, pushed for a new judge.
