Two guests, said to be a father and his young daughter, have been rescued by crew after going into the water while onboard the Disney Dream cruise ship as it returned from a voyage around the Bahamas.

The ship's new namesake, Peterson, was gravely wounded in May 1942 while leading a repair party on the USS Neosho during an aerial attack from the Japanese in the Coral Sea, Hegseth said.

The accident happened June 29 after the ship left Lookout Cay and was heading back to Fort Lauderdale, where was scheduled to arrive at 8 a.m. June 30.
