CHICAGO –– The White Sox announced Saturday that infielder Jacob Gonzalez has been promoted to Triple-A Charlotte. Gonzalez, 23, is ranked No. 9 among White Sox prospects, per MLB Pipeline. He was the team's first-round pick in 2023 out of Ole Miss.

This round of the City Series arrives as the July 31 trade deadline nears. The Cubs are in a position to buy while the White Sox will be looking to sell.

C HICAGO –– With the MLB trade deadline approaching on Thursday, the White Sox made a deal with the Tampa Bay Rays. Minor league infielder Tristan Gray is headed to Tampa in exchange for cash considerations, the White Sox announced.

The prized rookie shortstop hit a three-run homer to tie the game and later broke it open with a two-run double.
