LAS VEGAS ( FOX5) — A piece of aircraft equipment fell during takeoff Monday in Las Vegas, airport officials confirmed. Just after 9 p.m., as a British Airways flight departed from the Harry Reid International Airport, a tire fell during takeoff. Officials say the flight continued its route to London, where it landed safely.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A crash closed a central Las Vegas valley road Monday evening, according to RTC of Southern Nevada. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. Monday in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Community College Drive. Police said that at least one person sustained a minor injury in the crash.

A pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after a hit-and-run crash in the east Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened at Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road. It involved the victim and the driver of a black sedan. Police said the victim was crossing Tropicana when they were hit by the sedan. The victim has life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
