Ten communities throughout the state of Alabama are joining a nationwide protest effort on July 17 in response to recent ICE raids and health care cuts carried out by the Trump administration.
The protests were slated to take place on Thursday, July 17, the fifth anniversary of the death of civil rights champion and Congressman John Lewis, who popularized the concept of "Good Trouble," referring to non-violent civil disobedience.
As part of a national movement of over 1,000 protests, 60 demonstrations were planned across Michigan, including one at Centennial Park.
