Elon Musk’s artificial-intelligence company xAI unveiled an improved version of its Grok chatbot and the model that powers it late Monday, marking his latest effort to catch up with established competitors including OpenAI.

Elon Musk’s startup xAI is scheduled to release the AI chatbot Grok 3 today at 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, according to a post by Musk on X (formerly Twitter). Positioned as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Grok 3 is expected to showcase advanced reasoning capabilities.

According to xAI’s blog, Grok 3 leverages Test-Time Compute at Scale (TTCS), a specific implementation of test-time scaling, to power its reasoning. This machine learning strategy enables the A.I. model to dynamically adjust computational resources, ensuring higher accuracy for complex queries while maintaining speed for simpler tasks.
