An earthquake hit just outside of Dublin Tuesday evening, the United States Geological Survey confirmed. The quake in the East Bay had a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 and a depth of about six miles, according to the USGS. Residents in Concord, Danville, Fremont, Hayward and Castro Valley reported feeling weak shaking, the USGS website states.

A moderately strong, 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor happened at 10:08 a.m. Pacific time about 2 miles south of Julian, Calif., data from the agency shows. U.S.G.S. data earlier reported that the magnitude was 6.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake near Julian rattled much of Southern California and Tijuana just after 10 a.m. Monday, prompting brief evacuations in downtown San Diego and shaking cities as far away as Oxnard and Palm Springs.
