ESPN’s Dick Vitale received a standing ovation Saturday night at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum in his first game back as a commentator since recovering from his fourth bout with cancer.

Longtime ESPN color commentator Dick Vitale made his return to the broadcast Saturday for Clemson's game against Duke after battling four types of cancer over the course of four years. It was his first time calling a game in nearly two years.

Dick Vitale thought this day would never come but he was back broadcasting at the Duke-Clemson basketball game on Saturday

But Vitale was declared cancer free last month, and ESPN announced earlier this week he’d make his broadcasting return to call Saturday’s Clemson-Duke game with play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien and analyst Corey Alexander.
