President Trump announced sweeping tariffs on goods imported from Mexico, Canada and China, sending shocks through the global supply chain and raising fears about consumer costs.

Mr. Trump is trying use tariffs to force Mexico to better guard its border with the United States, but Mexican officials say the tariffs will only hurt both countries.

Trump also put a 25% tariff on Canadian imports, while Chinese products will receive a more modest 10% tariff.
