ByteDance Ltd. has asked a San Francisco federal court to impose $6.2 million in sanctions against a pair to attorneys representing a whistleblower whose legal case against the Chinese tech conglomerate fell apart last year.
The parent company of TikTok has offered US employees the chance to sell shares they might hold in ByteDance, a privately owned company, which could have a knock-on effect on any eventual sale of the social media app.
