The New York Mets' rotation took another early hit on Monday as left-hander Sean Manaea was diagnosed with a strained right oblique. He's expected to be shut down for two weeks or so and is likely to open the regular season on the injured list.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that Manaea will be shut down for a couple of weeks and likely start the season in the injured list. He joins Montas, who suffered a high-grade lat strain and will be shut down for at least another 5 to 7 weeks, on the sidelines to start the season.
