Val Kilmer, known for his roles in “Batman Forever” and “Top Gun,” has died at 65. The actor died on Tuesday in Los Angeles due to pneumonia, his daughter Mercedes Kilmer confirmed to The New York Times. As The New York Times reports, the film star was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but later recovered.
"Val will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on forever in the films and performances he so brilliantly shared with us," Michael Douglas wrote in his tribute to Val Kilmer.
"I'm remembering Val Kilmer today with great admiration for him as a man and as a generational talent who left us an enviable legacy of indelible acting performances," Carrey said
