BRADENTON, Fla. – Lexi Thompson might be semi-retired, but she hasn’t stopped grinding. The 29-year-old announced last season that she was stepping away from a full-time schedule yet signed up for the first event she was eligible to play in 2025.

Thompson stepped away from the LPGA full-time after the 2024 season, but gave insight on why she's playing the tour's second event of 2025, along with fellow retiree Brittany Lincicomb.

Lexi Thompson did say she was only retiring from full-time competition when she announced last year that she would be stepping away from the LPGA Tour. So, while it might be a bit surprising to see Thompson teeing it up this week at the Founders Cup presented by U.
