J.J. Spaun's first career round in the Open Championship was off to a rollicking start on Thursday, the U.S. Open winner going out in one-under 35 at Royal Portrush. Unfortunately, it ended on a semi-sour note.

The "Golden Bear" and 18-time major winner won the first of his three Opens and completed the first of his three career grand slams along the southeastern Scottish coast in 1966, then called the par-71 layout "the best golf course in Britain."

Sadom Kaewkanjana is a 27-year-old pro from Thailand who has gotten into contention at the British Open. He shot 3-under 68 to finish one shot off the lead at the time his round concluded, behind Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jacob Skov Olesen and Li Haotong. Kaewkanjana got up and down at No. 18 from off the green for par to close out his round

Jacob Skov Olesen was born in Roskilde, Denmark but currently resides in Copenhagen, Denmark's capital city that is just 40 minutes away from Olesen's hometown. Growing up, Olesen worked as a part-time groundskeeper at the Royal Copenhagen Golf Club, which helped him earn money to jumpstart his career.
