Connecticut's Board of Pardons and Paroles denied discretionary parole for a man convicted in the 1991 ambush killing of Connecticut State Police Trooper Russell Bagshaw.

Under a 2023 law change, Duane Johnson, convicted of felony murder in the 1991 death of Connecticut Trooper Russell Bagshaw, will have a parole hearing Friday.

Duane Johnson is currently serving a 60-year sentence for the ambush death of Trooper Russell Bagshaw in June 1991. A parole hearing is happening Friday.
