CLEVELAND – There was nothing particularly artistic about the 125-pound championship final between Penn State’s top-seeded Luke Lilledahl and Princeton’s 10th-seeded Marc-Anthony McGowan on Saturday night at Rocket Arena.

Minnesota Gophers redshirt sophomore Max McEnelly defeated top-ranked Rocco Welsh of Penn State 4-3 Saturday night to win the 184-pound national championship at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cleveland,

The Nittany Lions went 6-2 in the semifinals, increasing their total to 153 points and their lead to 41.5 points over second-place Oklahoma State (111.5).

CLEVELAND – Penn State junior Mitchell Mesenbrink was the star of the three-day NCAA Wrestling Championships at Rocket Arena. And a PSU true freshman who looks like a future star was honored for his aggressive efforts throughout the tourney.

Penn State enters as the top-ranked team and will pursue its fifth consecutive championship across the three-day event.
