Taxpayers who requested an extension have until Wednesday, Oct. 15 to complete and submit their returns without penalties. Some taxpayers impacted by natural disasters, like wildfires in California and flooding in Texas, will have even more time to file. However, with the government shutdown, some IRS services could be impacted.
