Texas A&M has found its 23rd head coach in men’s basketball program history. Samford’s Bucky McMillan will take over the lead role in College Station, the university announced Saturday. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, McMillan will get a five-year deal from A&M.

McMillan is leaving Samford, but much like Pharrel Payne with Buzz Williams in Maryland — and a couple of former Xavier players headed to play for Texas under new coach Sean Miller — some 2024-25 Bulldogs may find their way to College Station with McMillan.
