Lamont Roach isn’t backing down after his controversial draw with Gervonta Davis, insisting his performance proved he belongs among boxing’s pound-for-pound elite. With Davis dropping out of The Ring’s pound-for-pound update released on March 9, Roach believes his stock has never been higher.

The boxing world was left flabbergasted after Gervonta “Tank” Davis escaped Barclays Center on Saturday with a majority draw against Lamont Roach. The 30-year-old Davis, who is undefeated and was a heavy favorite, took a knee in the middle of the ninth round before retreating to his corner, where a member of his team wiped his face with a towel.
