Monroe Central assistant basketball coach Rick Owens, a longtime Indiana basketball official and coach, passed away Saturday at the age of 79.

Those murmurs died down quickly once the Raiders, with new minority owner Tom Brady leading the way, hired veteran Pete Carroll as their new coach in January.
