A major winter storm is pummeling the Tri-State Area with snow and ice after New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency.

Jersey City, NJ – A man was struck and killed Monday night in a fatal hit-and-run on Tonnelle Avenue, and the driver who hit him fled the scene, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

A winter storm warning in place for the tristate region. Six to 9 inches of snow is possible in upstate New York, with 10 inches possible in the Hudson Valley. Five to 8 inches is forecast for northern New Jersey, while Hartford, Connecticut, could get about 4 inches.
