Michigan State opened last season unranked before winning the Big Ten regular-season title and reaching the Elite Eight while finishing 30-7 in coach Tom Izzo’s 30th season. The Spartans will look a lot different next season after losing seven scholarship players.

The Michigan State basketball team's Big Ten opponents for the 2025-26 season were announced on Tuesday. The Spartans will play seven home-only and seven away-only opponents, along with playing three opponents both home and away, to complete their 20 conference games in the regular season.

The Spartans will play their only meetings of the 2025-26 season at Purdue, Wisconsin and Nebraska, the conference revealed Tuesday. They also will return to the Pacific Northwest to face Oregon and Washington for the first time on the road in conference action after the two newcomers visited East Lansing this winter.
