Here are five things parents and caregivers should know about the new vaccination schedule changes for children. The new guidelines no longer universally recommend children receive vaccines for rotavirus, hepatitis A and hepatitis B, meningitis (meningococcal disease), RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), COVID, and influenza (the flu).
The change comes after President Donald Trump on Dec. 5 directed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and CDC Acting Director Jim O'Neill to review practices from "peer, developed nations" when it comes to childhood vaccine recommendations and update its schedule accordingly.

"I think this is extremely dangerous. There has not been a case made to eliminate these vaccines," said Dr. Jill Roberts, a USF professor at the College of Public Health.
