Former TJC standout Jimmy Butler has been traded from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors. Butler attended TJC in the fall of 2007 and averaged nearly 19 points a game, seven rebounds for the team during his freshman year.

An hour before Butler and Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy spoke to the media, coach Steve Kerr admitted he doesn’t know Butler well and hasn’t spoken with him yet. Kerr, like everybody else, is well aware of the drama that surrounded Butler in his ugly exit from the Miami Heat this season.

The former Marquette standout who started his college career at the JUCO level at Tyler Junior College in Texas was traded to the Warriors on Friday by the Miami Heat, making this his fifth stop of his NBA career. In 25 games with the Heat this season, he averaged 17 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists but saw his tenure end on a sour note.
