India and Pakistan will figure out relations between themselves, U.S. President Donald Trumpsaid on Friday as tensions soared between the two neighboring countries after an attack in India's Kashmir region that was the worst in nearly two decades.

NEW DELHI — A deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir has again moved India and Pakistan closer to war as the two rivals downgraded diplomatic and trade ties, closed the main border crossing and revoked visas for each other’s nationals.

The latest attack on civilian tourists in Kashmir has been one of the worst attacks in the region since 2019, resulting in a tit-for-tat measure between India and Pakistan.
