After a relatively dry winter, Big Bear Mountain Resort and Snow Valley are finally getting some snow. The ski areas in California benefitted from a moderate storm that swept through earlier this week.

Malachi Luis Garcia, a 35-year-old snowboarder, was found alive by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies after going missing in the snowy mountains.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department rescued a snowboarder who had been lost for two nights in the San Gabriel Mountains without camping supplies, food, or even a jacket. “He was lucky,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Casey Cheshier to the Los Angeles Times.
