The former One Direction member died without a will last October. Under UK inheritance law, Cheryl Tweedy is legally responsible for his fortune until their son turns 18.

According to the newly issued court docs, obtained by People, the net value of Liam’s estate is over £24 million, which converts to roughly $32.2 million. In the UK, if a person dies without a will, the money will typically go straight to their children, so long as they have no living wife, husband, or civil partner.

Payne was laid to rest in a private funeral on November 20, attended by his former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan.
