Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain beat German giants Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup despite ending up with only nine players on the pitch, to book a semifinal tie with either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund.

The quarterfinals produced a staggering amount of drama, especially on the right side of the draw as Paris Saint-Germain faced Bayern Munich and Real Madrid dueled Borussia Dortmund in repeats of recent UEFA Champions League finals.
