Volvo has revealed a new, tougher version of its EX30 compact electric SUV, as it fits the Cross Country badge to an electric car for the very first time.

True to the classic recipe, Volvo has added flared wheel arch extensions and skid plates front and back, while also raising the ride height by 0.7 inches. The CC variants will also wear unique 18-inch wheels, with optional all-terrain tires.

Inside, the EX30 Cross Country looks identical to its asphalt-only counterpart. A vertically oriented 12.3-inch infotainment display also contains the driver information gauges and runs Volvo’s Google-based interface. You can also use Apple CarPlay, and instead of speakers in the doors, there is a single soundbar spanning across the dashboard.

Along with the single-motor EX30, the rugged-looking EX30 Cross Country is due before the end of the 2025 calendar year.

The Cross Country treatment adds a few rugged touches to the mix, while simultaneously ushering in new adventure experience packages for customers.
