An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 shook the Caribbean Sea southwest of the Cayman Islands on Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred Saturday around 6:23 p.m. Eastern Time with an epicenter about 129 miles southwest of George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands.

While the tsunami warnings were issued for U.S. territories Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, there is no threat to the U.S. Atlantic or Gulf Coast.
