Here are five likes and dislikes about the 2025 NBA All-Star weekend, which underwent big changes this season.

So, there are lots of ideas circulating at the moment, seeing as there is still an All-Star problem to fix. And one idea that was thrown around Sunday night? Bringing the game to Boston—at the very least, Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown thinks it could be a good idea.

A slew of celebrities did little to liven up the quiet atmosphere as Sunday night’s All-Star Game festivities got underway.

The Bay Area's NBA All-Star Weekend officially tipped off with a pair of games Friday night on both sides of the bay.

Shaquille O’Neal’s team of veteran stars prevailed, and Stephen Curry was named the MVP at Chase Center. But much of the actual basketball was lost amid the variety show.

Per the NBA: “The four teams participating in the NBA All-Star Game will compete for a prize pool of $1.8 million. Each player on the championship-winning team will receive $125,000, each player on the second-place team will receive $50,000 and each player on the third- and fourth-place teams will receive $25,000.” There you have it. Enjoy!

The first NBA All-Star Game was played in 1951 at Boston Gardens and it only happened because Celtics owner Walter Brown agreed to cover any losses the game might incur. It drew 10,000 people and was considered an instant success.

It was six hours before game time and people were already filing into the Thrive City plaza outside the Chase Center.
