The Terps’ cohesiveness over the summer and into the start of the season might help them weather the storm through an injury-addled slump.

Biasu’s season-high 26 points, Brenda Frese earned her 600th win as the Terps’ head coach as No. 16 Maryland women’s basketball defeated Oregon 79-61 on Thursday at Matthew Knight Arena. The Terps improved to 18-5 overall and 8-4 in Big Ten play.

The Illini beat the Terrapins for the first time — they were 0-17 previously — and delayed Frese’s big day with a 66-65 victory Sunday. It was a sour result for Maryland on a day when it honored its seniors before the game. It was also quite a breakthrough for Illinois.

Sarah Te-Biasu scored 26 points, Kaylene Smikle added 21 and the Terps cruised past Oregon for Brenda Frese’s 600th win at Maryland.
