Avon is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 4,777 at the 2020 census. The first settler in the land that would become Avon was Moses Curtis, a blacksmith from Braintree, Massachusetts. With most of his surviving children living near him, by 1749 the locale was called Curtis Corners.
