Colerain is a town in Bertie County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 204 at the 2010 census. Colerain, North Carolina, was named after Coleraine in Ireland. On April 16, 2011, the western side of the town was hit by an EF3 tornado that killed 12 people and caused extensive damage.
