You can cut the flat black ribbon cable on the gimbal and that will cut power to your gimbal motors. Dont cut the silver stranded cable, thats your video feed. If you decide to cut the black cable, you will need to fix the gimbal into one position with tape, gauze or other contraption. Thanks for the suggestion. Is this the ribbon?

The gimbal before I was able to fix the focus and aperture issue was moving left/right & up/down just fine. It can fly normally, but again, the camera is facing forward non stop.

With the drone switched off can you WITH OUT force roll the gimbal? If you have to repace parts within the gimbal/camera you may run into problems as something in the gimbal camera assembly it paired to something in the drone, a replacement part may break this pairing. If that happens you may find the gimbal points askew and or errors are reported.
